Knoxwell is led by Brent T. Blackburn, PE, a registered professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience in engineering, project design and building evaluation. His degree in architectural engineering provides a multidisciplinary foundation in structural, electrical, HVAC and other building system design, which he has built upon through a career focused primarily on structures and the evaluation of buildings and their components. Licensed in multiple states, Brent has collaborated with owners, architects, contractors and other professionals to develop practical, constructible solutions and to assess the technical and economic factors of new and existing buildings. His experience evaluating building systems and components across a variety of building occupancies and construction types, provides a valuable perspective for property assessments and cost segregation studies, allowing him to apply his engineering knowledge to the analysis of real estate assets. Brent founded Knoxwell to bring together experienced engineering judgment, clear communication and a practical understanding of the relationship between a building’s technical requirements and its owner’s financial objectives.
